Blakely arrived on May 21st at 12:51 PM weighing in at 6 lbs and 6 oz and 19 in long. We had a minor hiccup upon her arrival and landed in NICU for 6 days. She was born with a heart murmur and had some breathing troubles, but all is well now (PTL). We are so thankful to have her home!! That was a LONG 6 days, especially since I was discharged and wasn't able to stay with her. A year ago almost to the day I had to leave the hospital without my baby, and I know this was completely different but it was very emotional for me. It was not how I had things planned. I kept reminding myself of Isaiah 55:8-9. God's ways are so much better than ours.
She has done great at home and I'm not sure if it is because I'm more relaxed or she is just easier. She is a great baby! Sleeping and nursing great. Big brother is very interested in her and just wants her to wake up and play with him. He has some adjusting to do, but overall he has done fairly well with the change. I know this is a huge adjustment for him and I'm trying to offer grace :)
Yay, congratulations on Blakely! I love that she shares my name, and her birthday is exactly 2 months after mine, as mine is March 21. I'm so glad you guys are doing well, and I'd love to get together at some point. Congrats again!
